Who They Are

Tectonic Vibration is more known in the light commercial and professional type of setting where their machines are built for continuous use and high traffic facilities (think fitness studios, chiropractic clinics, physiotherapist clinics, doctors offices, etc…). Although build for commercial applications, residential users would welcome the durability and power offered by their machines. Tectonic manufacturers a single oscillation machine, a dual motor machine, and a single motor triplanar machine to ensure they cover all sorts of use scenarios and many difference environments.

Tectonic M2.0

The commercial grade oscillation machine uses a 1000 W motor and supports users upto about 440 lbs. The handle is one of the strongest that we’ve tested and is superb for user’s with Parkinsons, balance stability problems, or must rely on a walker. The high powered motor together with a wide frequency range of 5-30 Hz will help significantly in building up the core and stability muscles which can help user’s to regain flexibility and more control in their body. The M2.0 has a generous platform at 20″ x 16″ that has two notches on the platform where you can mount hand straps for upper body exercises. Click here to read our full review of the Tectonic M2.0.

Tectonic M6.0

The Tectonic M6.0 is a hybrid of the Tectonic M2.0 and the Tectonic M8.0. It uses two vibration motors–one for each of the oscillation (500 W) and triplanar (200 W). Each vibration mode can be individually selected. The Triplanar vibration is slightly different from some of the other dual vibration machines that uses the Spiral vibration. The motors in the Triplanar machines are mounted horizontally and the offsets are out on the side of the motors. This design allows the motor to not get affected by the user’s weight, instead, uses only the frame of the unit to support the user’s weight. These designs are better because heavier user’s will not adversely shorten the life of the motors. The platform itself supports users upto 400 lbs and has a platform size of 22″ x 14″. It is one of the few machines that has built in calorie counter and heart rate monitor. Click here for the Tectonic M6.0 full review.

Tectonic M8.0

The Tectonic M8.0 was developed to have the higher frequencies to tackle muscle strengthening and conditioning and aiding in building bone health. It is one of the most inexpensive full sized triplanar machine you can find and rivals some of the more expensive units like the Power Plate MY5 and DKN XG-5. It has a good frequency range of 30-45 Hz in 5 Hz increments and preset times at 30, 60 or 90 seconds. Unlike some of the other larger machines, the M8.0 actually comes with rear wheels for you to lug the machine around if you choose. The upright column is metal constructed and fairly slender. It has a handle bar on each side and quick set buttons on the control panel for easy configuration during your workout. The vibration platform is very large at 30.5″ by 23″ and will allow you to do any exercise that you can dream of. The M8.0 is built very sturdy and even if you were to jump on the machine, there’s no way you can break the 4 springs that supports the platform. The maximum supported weight is 400 lbs but I have a feeling this platform can actually support more. We’re still crunching the full review on this, call us in the mean time if you want to know more about this unit.
