Who They Are

Hypervibe is based in Australia with distributors in North America and other continents. They are known for sponsoring the “Biggest Loser” reality show in Australia and produce machines that creates some of the highest G-forces available on a vibration trainer today. These machines are single motor, oscillation units that vary on the motor, frequency, and amplitude depending on which model you choose. When standing on the machines at their maximum speed, you shouldn’t do it too long as the force that you are subjected to could get harmful if you are not careful. For some users the G-force can get overwhelming. Some of their machines are quite technologically advanced compared to their competition. You can hook up your Android or Apple iOS device via Bluetooth and use the app to control the machine directly using their app. They have some videos that you can view that are fairly useful if you are new to vibration training with a digital screen on some of their units. Hypervibe machines tend to be a lot louder than other competing units because of the strong and higher G-force that their machines can produce.

Hypervibe G10 Mini

The portable G10 is smaller unit that you can take with you if you need a little vibration fix on your vacation trips, the office, the apartment or somewhere where space is limited. Being a portable unit, it actually compromise all too much in terms of power as it produces a respectable 10G of force. This unit weights about 54 lbs and can easily support users upto about 310 lbs.  The machine comes as a fully assembled unit, the only other thing you may need to install is the docking surface if you place it on a surface that is not hard and flat (think carpet), otherwise, the machine is ready to go once you remove it from its box.

Example Introduction Program, Bluetooth App Exercise

The platform itself is large and wide and comes in at about 25 inches by 15 inches–even larger than its full sized brother the G17 Pro.  Users with larger feet won’t find it uncomfortable or finding their feet to be running off the platform when they are using the unit. Each platform is marked to show you the amplitude of where you are standing, the further you stand from the center, the higher the amplitude. It is marked as H M L L M H, where H stands for High, M Medium and L Low. When using the preset programs and exercises on a synced Bluetooth device, the program itself tells you which level to stand at. This is nice and convenient and definitely makes it easier for new users to begin learning to use a vibration machine to make sure they are using it properly.

One very cool thing with the G10 is that you can sync your Android or Apple device via Bluetooth to the machine using the Hypervibe App. In the app, you can select about 38 video programs that offer over 100+ exercises and follow the exercises on your tablet to properly use the machine. This unit is more advanced than other many others on the market and can intimidate some users that may not be comfortable with user a tablet or phone to control the unit. I think the learning curve is a little high but if you a more tech savvy than others, you will find this technology to be valuable. Luckily, a remote control does come with the unit and you can adjust the machine using it if you like, you just end up not being able to see the exercises physically when you are working out on your platform. However, some settings are not allowed on the remote control versus the app. The machine, via the remote control allows you to set a time setting of 30, 60, or 90 seconds. You can’t set it to another time setting unless you sync the G10 with the mobile device and change the time settings itself through the app. I find this to be a slight inconvenience as I sometimes just want to start the machine and quickly start with a 10 minute countdown to just do full body stimulation.

The hand straps are provided with the unit and you mount it to the platform by clipping the straps to the base of the unit via a plate that slides out. These are the stretchy type bands and vibration does not transfer to the upper body but rather gives a resistance type of workout. The stiff nylon straps are much more desirable for any vibration machine because they transfer the vibration from the platform to the upper body without you needing to go on the floor and putting your hands to the platform.

Overall, the Hypervibe G10 Mini is pretty good value for a single motor oscillating machine that offers some of the best virtual personal trainer experience for newer users. However, the learning curve with using a tablet or mobile device with the machine might be a little steep for some users. It is unfortunately you cannot use the machine to its full potential without the app but the remote control will be just good enough if you know exactly what you are doing, and you are set to doing multiple exercises for a short 30-90 second interval setting.

Hypervibe G14 Home

The second unit from Hypervibe is the G14. It is virtually identical in terms of looks to the G10 Mini except it does weigh heavier and the specifications are a little bit different. The G14 is about 88 lbs and supports users upto about 310 lbs, which is identical to the G10 mini. The machine itself is definitely not as portable as the G10 mini but certainly retains the slim build at just 6″ thick. The G14 produces a G-Force of about 14 Gs. It is the most powerful small sized oscillating machine you can get but I think it is more expensive than competing brands. Similar with the G10, the full functionality of the G14 is similar if not identical to the G10 mini and is worth reading above. Aside from the G force and frequency settings, and machine weight, the G10 and G14 are virtually identical.

Hypervibe G17 Pro

The G17 Pro is Hypervibe’s top of the line home use unit. It is a full sized machine that can generate an earth shattering G-force of 17.3 Gs! One of the highest available for oscillation units. There is a very nice 9″ LCD display that can help guide newer users through a wide range of pre-installed programs. You basically select the program that you like, and follow the on screen picture and replicate the same position or exercise on the platform. This is the only full sized unit in their line (with a column and upright tower).

The machine comes in 2 separate boxes, the base unit and tower. Assembly is fairly quick and easy as the machine assembles with 8 bolts. 4 for the bolting the tower to the base unit and 4 for mounting the console and control panel to the tower. Machine is packed well with edge protectors stapled to the boxes and giant styrofoams inside that cushion the machine and fills in all excess space. The machine itself is a very handsome white with a black platform, console and handlebars. Handle bars come out of the side of the machine and slope upwards. It is very minimalist and works fine for most standing exercises but I do find it hard to grab onto when you are sitting on the platform as the arms and shoulders have the flex all the way back to reach it. When fully assembled, the machine weighs about 170 lbs and feels firm and solid. As long as your adjust the levelers at the bottom of the machine, it is sure to be grounded to the floor and won’t move when you are standing on the platform.

The platform itself is 21″ x 13.2″ which is slightly smaller than their portable units. I think this is due to the high Gs that the machine creates, you simply cannot stand too far to the edge or you will hurt yourself. The size is comfortable but taller users with longer legs or larger feet may find the platform to be a bit restrictive. Each platform is marked to show the amplitude based on where you are standing. This is useful when you are using the platform with the built-in pre-set programs and exercises. The platform is marked: H M L L M H, where H stands for High, M medium, L low. H represents about 6-7 mm, M 4-5 mm, and L 2-3 mm peak to peak movement of the plate. The G force will vary depending on where you stand on the platform and what frequency you set the machine at, which are all conveniently shown on the LCD display.

Example: LCD Display, Exercise Program

The console is a 9″ LCD color display and shows the frequency, G-force, timer, and current time. If you are using a pre-set program, the display will also show the program and exercises that you are supposed to do. There are a total of 5 groups of pre-set programs: Active Aging, Weight Loss & Fitness, Women’s Health & Beauty, Performance & Recovery, Relieve & Revive. Within each group, there are multiple programs you can select. Each program puts together 3-8 different exercises ranging from 4-20 minutes and can be Low, Medium or High Intensity depending on your poison. This is quite useful for new users to vibration training as you can follow exactly on the screen what you should be doing, where you should be standing and not have to worry about fiddling with the frequency setting. The machine will automatically adjust these for you so all you need to worry about is perfect your form!

Manual mode is also allowed and is designed for more experienced users. You no longer get the exercise displays but you do see the G-force setting for each of the L M H standing positions. The default when you start the unit is 5 Hz and 10 minutes. You can only adjust the frequency in this mode and cannot modify the time as you are using the unit. In order to adjust the time, you have to modify the pre-set settings by going into the programming mode everytime. This is annoying if you vary your workouts for 3 minutes on some days, 5 minutes on others, and maybe 12 on special days. Hopefully in the next revisions, they allow you to adjust the time as you see fit without kicking the machine into programming mode to redo the default time setting.

The hand straps that come with the machine are the stiff nylon types. These are most desirable as they can transfer the vibration from the platform from the base platform to the upper body without needing to go on your knees to do any exercises. There are 4 holes in the platform to where you can insert the twist lock anchors on the hand straps. All you do is insert and twist. You can’t get any easier than that. 2 holes are at the top, and 2 at the bottom. You can mount the straps as you see fit depending on what part of your upper body you want to work on. Just make sure to remove the hand straps when you aren’t using it as it can produce excess rattling sounds and vibration.

The Hypervibe G17 Pro is probably not your quietest machine so you’ll have to take this into consideration should your location where you are putting this unit is sound sensitive. Your neighbors may hate you. The G17 can be quite loud especially at the higher frequencies.

Hypervibe also manufacturers the Galaxy line but that is more for high volume commercial uses as the G17 Pro can easily be used in a smaller clinic with low to medium flow customers.

Overall, I think the Hypervibe G17 Pro is a fairly well designed unit with many convenient technology built into the unit. The preset programs will help newer users of vibration training and also professionals or athletes that would want to use this for muscle strengthening and building purposes. There are some minor issues with the interface but if you are in the market for the highest G-force machine, the G17 Pro won’t disappoint.

Hypervibe Performance

The original unit that started it all. The Performance still produces the same 17 Gs of force but the specifications, amplitude, and frequency are all different between the newer fourth generation G17 Pro and the now defunct Performance.
