A smaller and slimmer version whole body vibration machine by VibraPro, the same manufacturer as the VibraPro 5500, the VibraPro Slim is an alternate premium oscillation vibration machine. Compared to the VibraPro 5500 vibration plate, the Slim is more compact and is designed to save space in the home.
As with most vibration machines, the VibraPro Slim comes pretty much preassembled and all you really have to do is mount the slender pole onto the base. The pole itself is made of an all steel construction so it is extremely sturdy and should barely wobble when the machine is in operation. A handlebar is mounted on each side of the pole and does not have buttons on the handles to control the machine when you are holding onto the handles. The display has 3 LED displays to show the Time, Speed, and Program. The machine is controlled by a set of buttons that are flush (I’m not even sure if they are buttons) to the control panel–Time +/-, Speed +/-, Program +/-, Start/Stop, and Power Off.
The machine comes with 3 pre-programmed routines and a Manual mode, VibraPro calls them P1-Weight Loss, P2-Mixed, and P3-Bone Densification and Massage. The manual mode allows you to control the vibration speed on the fly when you using it. In the manual mode, you can change the time and the speeds of your workout. There are a total of 50 speed settings for you to choose and is adequate for most users looking to rehabilitate or help them with increasing their bone density.
The VibraPro Slim vibration machine is powered by a 300W motor. The lifting power seems to be lacking when I start using free weights (25 lbs) with my workout, and especially when I stand near the edge of the vibration platform. The Platform size is a little small, at 23″ x 18″ but should be sufficient for most users. Remember for pivotal motions, the bigger the platform, the wider your standing posture can be and the higher the amplitude. Doing crunches on the machine is fine but I would prefer a bigger platform, but I guess the purpose of this vibration machine is to be as compact as possible without crippling the platform size. At higher speeds, the platform shakes a little by itself despite the pole adding weight to the base. But once you are on the machine, it is not a problem and the machine is solid.
The VibraPro Slim is a good choice for a whole body vibration machine if you are looking for an oscillation vibration machine that is compact, has a column, not too big for the living room and with a big enough platform for most exercises.
